Runs very large
Runs really large. I'm 110 lbs and ordered XS, my usual size but it fits more like a women's medium.

I love the loose fit as it leaves me room for additional layers, and also great freedom of movement. Definitely a rugged fabric which is important to me as I do volunteer work with raptors at a nature center with very cold winters. The only tricky thing is getting the zipper started due to the stiffness of the fabric on the placket over it. I would highly recommend it as a rugged and warm work jacket!

Size up, runs small
I originally bought an XS as some reviews said the jacket runs big. In my opinion it actually runs small. I'm 5'6" and 105ish lbs, the sleeves/shoulders on the XS were super tight and constricting (could've been because of my height) so I reordered a S which fit way better. If you plan on layering like I wanted to, definitely size up.

Love it but it shrank in wash
I absolutely love it! So cute. But I feel like it shrink a bit after I washed it, which I was not expecting. I followed all of the care instructions on the label exactly. If not for that I would have rated five stars

My jacket is LIKE NEW even after 9 YEARS. Best jacket purchase I've ever made. DURABLE and Warm!!!
I bought this well-crafted, exceptionally warm, relentlessly resilient purple Carhartt jacket almost 10 years ago. I've used it for work, as well as for going out in. It's been incredibly durable and you can hardly tell it's a work jacket! I've owned other jackets but they weren't nearly as tough. The sleeves or would rip so easily, or the zippers would break, etc. Not this jacket. You'd never know how much the jacket endured while working in landscape and the garden business. There's virtually no sign of wear and tear, and believe me, I've put this coat through a LOT. Not only is it tough as nails in regards to durability, But it is exceptionally warm. I've worn it in pretty cold weather and brutal wind, But my hips up to the head were nice and toasty (except my fingers, I should probably get some Carhartt gloves!) The wind doesn't blow through the jacket like so many others I've worn. It maintains your body heat quite well. You'd think it would weigh much more than it does since it's made with thick material, but it's pretty lightweight. For instance I have a nice cloak for going out on the town in, and it doesn't do very well to keep me warm, yet it's much heavier than this coat. I know it's been a long time since I bought a jacket, especially from Carhartt, But that's what you want. You want to purchase a jacket that does its job and doesn't need to be replaced very often and that's exactly what this one does for me. It'll be 10 years next year and I'll probably have it another 10. (Hopefully 20+)

Expensive, but worth it.
I got purchased this jacket and a pair of purple Carhartt women's bibs to match my at the same time. I still have the bibs as well. those are a bit on the heavier side, but they work WONDERS. Fun fact is I got the purple women's bibs for 45.00!!! (Thanks to a sale going on at a place called Mahoney's in Eastern Tennessee)
If you're in the market and shopping for a durable winter jacket with plenty of warmth, and pocket space, Do yourself a favor and go with this!
I don't think I have anything I can say that is negative about the jacket. The only thing I could think of would be that the zipper is so strong and well-built that sometimes it might get stuck when trying to zip up, But it's not enough to be an issue. Could just be my particular coat, nothing a little drop of WD-40 couldn't fix ;)
