Since 1889, Carhartt has built best-in-class workwear with the help of real, hardworking people like you. Our founder, Hamilton Carhartt, made a more durable pair of bibs by working directly with the railroad engineers in need of better gear to do a tougher job.

To this day, we continue to tap the insights of the roughest and toughest out there to keep us pushing the limits of what workwear can do. Only now, we call these folks the “Carhartt Crew.” A volunteer-based community of real, hardworking people dedicated to pressure-testing our gear and discovering new ways to make it more durable, comfortable, and functional for generations to come.
