Super Dux

Carhartt heritage meets technical outdoor performance.

The Super Dux collection is named after our first line of hunting gear, released in the 1930s. It's made with nylon that's lightweight and strong, making it comfortable for active days. The reduced weight feels great while hiking, fishing, or just walking around. It also fights off wind, light rain, and cold, so you enjoy the outdoors to the fullest.

A rating of EXTREME WARMTH means it works where weather thermometers quit. Delivering our highest level of warmth for plowing through unbearably cold conditions and record low temps. How to Measure

Note: For best results measure over your undergarments. Use a cloth measuring tape.

measure men's coat

Chest:

Measure just under arms and across shoulder blades holding the tape firm and level. If your chest falls between sizes, order the next size up.

Natural Waist:

Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Nice Coat. Not warm enough
The coat seems nice and durable. The shell material is strong and durable for work while being more formal than traditional duck fabrics. The cold rating is optimistic. I will have to layer the coat for winter wear in Northern Wisconsin. I would say the insulation should be 120-150 rather than the 100 gram Thinsulate used in this coat.

Not cold weather appropriate
Extreme warmth is an extreme oversell. This thin jacket is absolutely worthless in cold weather. If you're Canadian or are looking from a northern state, don't bother! It doesn't even look good. Not to mention the return process has been a nightmare.
