Perfect replacement for old favorites.
I never had a pair of the late, lamented 144's, but after looking for two years to replace two old pair of full-cut shorts I've now worn for a decade, I found a single pair of these by accident on a miscellaneous rack. They fit full enough and long enough to more than replace my old favorite shorts. I immediately bought two more pair in the other colors. It's in the thirties outside, but I continue to wear these shorts because they're more comfortable than pants, the pocket selection and the belt loops are great, and the reach is perfect.

You blew it
Miss the B144's. I have bought for years. You discontinued w/o any thing close to a replacement. Very disappointed I will be looking elsewhere.
