Earth Day & Sustainability at Carhartt
Sustainability at Carhartt begins with building the most durable gear possible, just like we’ve always done. By sourcing the best material and holding our manufacturing processes to the highest standards, we build gear that’s meant to last. Through our Carhartt Reworked resale program, our Carhartt Repair program, and our denim recycling partnership, we’re working to ensure that even more Carhartt gear is kept out of landfills and on the job where it belongs.
This Earth Day, we’re taking a look at updates from our 2024 Carhartt Reworked Year In Review, celebrating the release of a new Earth Day t-shirt, and highlighting some of our ongoing sustainability efforts and partnerships. Read on to learn more about how we’re working to leave a better world for future generations of hardworking people.

2024 Carhartt Reworked Year In Review Highlights
Last year we diverted 36.72 tons of product from landfills, completed 3,820 trade-ins, and made 3,744 repairs through our sustainability efforts. This year, we set our sights even higher and diverted 51 tons of product from landfills, accepted 8,875 trade-ins, and completed over 4,000 repairs.
While those numbers are exciting, we never stop working to do even more to close the loop on sustainability. From sourcing more responsible fibers for our materials and partnering with a new generation of organizations to build a stronger community to growing our internal programs, we’re determined to identify and act on responsible sustainability opportunities.

Carhartt Reworked
Carhartt gear is built for lifetimes, not landfills. That’s why Carhartt Reworked, our official resale program, is dedicated to reducing clothing waste by keeping more of it on the job where it belongs. Through Carhartt Reworked you can trade in your previously worn gear for credit towards new gear and buy like new, slightly worn, and broken in conditions direct from Carhartt Reworked.
Repair Program
Based out of our facilities in Irvine, KY and available at select Carhartt retail locations, our repair program has completed thousands of repairs over the years. Our repair crew’s decades of experience can help get your gear back in working order. Whether it’s fixing up busted zippers, replacing missing hardware, or stitching patches and tears, if it’s fixable, our repair team can help.
