This product is great. I have worked in maintenance for most of my career and these knee pads are terrific. If you install carpet, or other jobs where you are on your knees all day, you will want more padding, but for incidental use, these are perfect. They are light, flexible and since they are built into your pants, they are always there when you need them, no wasted time digging into your toolbox and strapping them on. I love that you can leave them in even in the laundry. One thing to note, Carhartt suggested medium for size 36 pants, wrong; order the large. You can always trim them to fit, but if they are too small they slide around and don't stay where you need them, under your knees. I bought three pair for my daily work pants and can't imagine going without. My only regret is that I didn't find them years ago!

Unreliable
I have the medium knee pads in my 31x32 double front Carhartt pants. The medium knee pad size is recommended for pant sizes above 32 so I was worried they'd be too big. In fact, I have opposite problem. I start the day by working the pads up above my knees and centered on the width of the pant leg, so they start out in the right spot. Within a couple of hours of the work day the pads have worked themselves out the bottom and no longer cover my knee. So I have to stop and work them into the right position again. I wish I had the large size, even if that required trimming, so that they'd stay put. Maybe there's a way to get the pads situated and then sewn into that spot so they stop moving. I love the idea, but they're not working for me.

magically cushy for things so slim. Expensive but worth the extra cost to make your double front cargo pants completely comfortable to work in if your job requires you to hit the dirt every now and then. Fit perfectly in front knee pockets and unobtrusively so they don't mess up your movement. excellent.
