Warmth Rating Earned: LEVEL 2 – WARMER
Engineered For Midrange Warmth in Moderately Cold Conditions
Gear with a rating of WARMER makes an ideal first-line of defense in cold weather. Delivering the extra warmth that comes in handy when there’s suddenly less daylight but always more to get done. That’s why our LEVEL 2 rated gear is built lighter and more flexible than more traditional heavyweight jackets, but it’s also Sherpa-lined and insulated for greater warmth and comfort.
The best designed Carhartt jacket I have owned. It is NOT rain gear, but it is very warm, has lots of pockets, secure closures and innovative design additions like nylon- reinforced cuffs (that really could be a standard I think)

Great work coat. Warm and comfortable.
This jacket gets right what other brands miss. I'm tall and relatively slender which means that the ability to make the lower hem smaller with the cinch cords is key to keeping warm by keeping wind out. It's also more comfortable to not have such a wide waste in the way all day. It's oddly the right temperature from the 20s to the 50s too so it'll be usable more of the year. Only improvement I would suggest is to eliminate the inside and one outside Velcro locations. There's only 2 and I removed the inside pocket one. When you work outside in the cold Velcro can tear your hands up. A button or snap or total deletion would be more workwear appropriate. That's minor though compared to the upside.
