measure men's bib

Waist:

Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Note: It may not be the smallest point.

Inseam:

Measure from your crotch down to the desired length on body. You can also measure pants that you currently own and like. Lay the garment flat, and measure on the front from the crotch point along the seam to the hem for the inseam length.

1970's well used bibs
I have had my bibs since the late 70's when I used be a heavy equipment mechanic and operator. These have held up very nicely. Finally starting to get some holes in them . I wouldn't trade them for anything. Well worth the money. The size on the label is 40 X 32 So you know these are old?

I absolutely love these Carhartt Overalls!!!
I was looking online to get Coveralls or Overalls to keep me warm during the Winter as I'm a Harley-Davidson mechanic and work in some cold areas of the shops sometimes and I also test ride motorcycles and ride my own motorcycle well into the colder months of Winter! I'm also a very large man and I'm 6'3" and well over 300 lbs. and I wasn't sure what size to order and if a 5XL would be big enough for me and I went to my local Carhartt store, and had a great female manager that was tremendous help and the biggest that they had in store was 3XL and she assured me that if I ordered a 5XL it would be big enough for sure! Once I got it shipped to my house, I tried it on and it was just perfect and had plenty of room to move in it, one of my biggest concerns was being able to stand, sit and squat as a mechanic we have to be able to move into different positions to do our job! Also a big concern was having inseam room when trying to straddle a motorcycle seat without a bunch of material bunching up in the inset and groin area and actually it is so comfortable to layer up and go riding and I ride my Harley in 35 degree weather riding an hour to and fro work doing 80-90mph in that temperature and I stay very war and very little wind actually gets through and it retains a lot of it's warmth! It's a fantastic product and I look forward to testing it out even more during hunting season too! I will definitely be buying a lot more Carhartt products in the future and I'm wanting to buy a matching Carhartt coat to match with the overalls now! Great product! Very Warm! High Quality! Durable! Exceeded Expectations! P.S. Please carry sizes up to the 5XL products in all your stores for all of us BIG & TALL customers! Thanks Carhartt!!!

Sizing couldn't be more inaccurate
The quality of the bibs is great, they're warm, they're durable, the clips look cool but are not very functional, the pockets could be deeper, and the sizing is absolutely ridiculous if you're not sized like Superman. I ordered the medium short, which was supposed to fit someone 5'3" to 5' 7", and I am absolutely swimming in these at 5' 7" and average proportions. This is even at the far end of the height range for this size. I cannot imagine someone 5' 3" wearing these bibs they'd look like a toddler wearing Hulk Hogan' bibs. I understand Carhartt runs large to accommodate for layers and mobility for work...but this is just blatantly wrong. These bibs should be 5-6" inches shorter to fit. Since Carhartt doesn't offer anything smaller I'm gonna have to just make these work because I need them at my job. I adjusted the elastic as short as it would go and they weren't even tight on my shoulders, so I doubled 3-4" of slack from the elastic back through the fitting to pull them up higher and they're still long and will be dragging in the dirt. I realize I'm not the tallest guy by any means, but Carhartt seems to be the only brand in America that can't design clothes to fit someone smaller than 5' 10". I never have these issues with other brands. Which really sucks because I'd love to wear Carhartt gear more, but I'm just not built like Paul Bunyan.
